Cherryville Community Food & Resource Society (formerly known as Cherryville Community Food Bank) became a society in 2010. Initially, the Cherryville Gospel Church started and supported an annual program in 1971 where local families in need could receive a hamper and gifts at Christmas time. Expanding on this concept, the food bank was founded and continued to grow within the community of Cherryville, helping families and individuals on a regular basis, promoting food security. In 2020, our vision and mission expanded beyond food security and we expanded into a multi-service organization offering a range of local supports and services designed to fill rural-based gaps and bridge access to care and service. We connect people, services, and systems so everyone in Cherryville can thrive. Grounded in deep relationships, we walk hand-in-hand as a community to meet residents needs – from food and family supports to health navigation and senior care – while advocating to ensure rural voices shape the systems that serve them. IMPACT STRATEGY
Our impact strategy demonstrates how and why our work will bring about change. It links long-term outcomes to medium-term priorities, to short-term objectives, our operational plan and our budget. It also sets up useable, sharable impact measurement.
Impact strategy is a deliberate shift from traditional strategic planning. Anchored in an impact model, or theory of change, it clarifies the intended impact and how we believe it will happen. The theory of change is the foundation of good impact measurement. It guides medium-term priorities and key initiatives. Near-term objectives and key results are deliberately linked to the guiding priorities.
Theory of Change
Our theory of change (ToC) describes and illustrates the change we’re making and how we expect to make it.
Impact Measurement
Our ToC identifies intended outcomes and outputs, which are the starting point for good measurement. Specific indicators are selected for both outcomes and outputs. Good measurement also includes collecting useful information, gauging performance and impact, and communicating and using results.
